Tajikistan must withdraw heavy equipment from the enclaves in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Sultanbai Aizhigitov announced at a meeting of the Parliament.
He noted that according to international standards, heavy equipment cannot be located on the territory of the enclaves.
«Tajikistan started a targeted provocation three days ago. They fired at our positions from mortars and brought heavy equipment. There is Kyk pasture and Bulak-Bashy village. They do not want Batken residents to live in the village. Heavy equipment must be withdrawn from Vorukh enclave,» the deputy said.
Shootout on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border took place on June 3 in Bulak-Bashy area of Batken region. The border patrol of Kyrgyzstan discovered the military of the neighboring republic. They illegally crossed the conventional border line and entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Ignoring the demands to leave the territory, the Tajik border guards opened fire at the Kyrgyz servicemen. Border detachments of the two countries exchanged fire, during which the Tajik side used mortars.
