Sambo wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan win 7 gold medals at Asian Championship

Sambo wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan won 7 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals at the Asian Championships in Lebanon. The Sambo Federation of Kyrgyzstan informed 24.kg news agency.

«Miraida Medetbek kyzy became the first champion in women’s combat sambo. Daiyr Kariyaev and Bekbolsun Kerimbekov won gold medals in combat sambo. Samara Abdumalik kyzy became the champion of Asia in sports sambo. In the final, she defeated the reigning world champion from Kazakhstan. Adilet Kubanychbek uulu, Kimal Obolbekov and Artur Sansyzbaev won gold medals in sports sambo among juniors and youth,» the statement says.

The national team also won 10 silver and 13 bronze medals. The Kyrgyzstan’s team took the third place in the overall standings.

More than 260 athletes from 16 countries took part in the championship, which was held from June 2 to June 4 in the city of Jounieh.
