Exchange rate of the Kyrgyz som against the U.S. dollar will be 85.7 soms at year-end 2022. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) made such a forecast.
At the same time, in 2023 it will grow to 92.1 soms, and in 2024 it will increase to 100 soms and will be about 97.7 soms.
The official exchange rate of U.S. dollar is 79.5 soms to date. At the same time, commercial banks and exchange offices of the capital buy the currency for 80.5-81.5 soms, and sell it for 81.5-82.5 soms.
«The exchange rate of som at the end of 2022 is projected at a level close to 85 soms per dollar. As geopolitical risks weaken, the fluctuation corridor for the som will narrow, and it is likely that by the end of the year it will be 84–86 soms per dollar. This will be facilitated by the measures of the authorities aimed at stabilizing the domestic foreign exchange market, as well as the adaptation of economic agents to new conditions,» the bank says.
