Kumtor transfers over 11 billion soms to budget for four months

From January to April 2022, the state budget received a total of 11,389.9 billion soms from Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. The company calls this «a record» amount.

According to it, 3,604.3 billion soms is the tax on gross income. A year earlier, it was 1,928.1 billion soms for the same period.

Another 7,785.9 billion soms were transferred for development of the mineral resources base of Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of 2021, Kumtor paid 8,030.3 billion soms in form of tax on gross income.

«The annual tax on development of the mineral resources base of Kyrgyzstan should be 4 percent of the proceeds. In 2021, for the first time in the history of the mine, the new management of the company transferred $32.9 million, or approximately 2 billion soms, from the proceeds received in excess of the planned budget taxes,» the press service of Kumtor reports.

Since the end of last year, Kumtor funds in the amount of 4 percent of revenue have been transferred to the budget to ensure operation of mining and processing enterprises in the new economic conditions, as well as the exploration of new deposits, a set of measures for the technical, technological and personnel support of geological exploration organizations.
