Opponents of fight against corruption intimidate authorities - Akylbek Japarov

Meeting of the Anti-Corruption Business Council takes place today at Ala-Archa state residence.

Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, noted that the anti-corruption strategy developed for three years should work, and not remain on paper.

«For 30 years we have been in search of the fight against corruption, setting high goals, but we have not completely got rid of this phenomenon. We want to fight corruption, but opponents intimidate the authorities. For example, these are some entrepreneurs who oppose the introduction of cash registers. However, in developed countries, businessmen are primarily switching to digitalization. In 1965, when Singapore reached its peak of corruption, the authorities continued to pursue a strict policy. In order to minimize the mechanisms of corruption, we will in any case introduce a digitalized system,» Akylbek Japarov said.

Entrepreneurs have been holding rallies against the mandatory use of cash registers for the past six months.
