Labor migrants to get consultations more quickly

The Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan received computer equipment for the hot line on migration and employment issues. Press service of the ministry reported.

According to it, the equipment will significantly improve the work of the hotline.

«The hotline at the Center for Employment of Citizens — 1899 — was opened so that the Kyrgyzstanis can quickly get answers to any questions related to labor migration, employment abroad. We receive about 17,000 calls per year. Most often people are interested in how to withdraw from the blacklist in Russia, how to protect their rights. Many call before leaving for labor migration, ask about the labor laws of the country where they are going.

To date, Kyrgyzstanis can legally get a job in South Korea, Great Britain, Germany through the ministry. Agreements with Finland and Japan are about to be signed. Therefore, it is very important that the citizens could get the information they need in a timely manner. Especially if they find themselves in a difficult situation, got in labor slavery. The center’s hotline not only provides advice, but also redirects calls to the competent authorities, if necessary. In addition, operators answer questions that come to our website migrant.kg, Telegram, and on social media. The USAID Safe Migration project implemented by Winrock International is a great help to us here. The computer equipment we received will allow us to work more quickly,» Kubandyk Akmatbekov, director of the center, said.

Kyrgyzstanis can get information about the country of stay, local legislation, consult on labor contracts, non-fulfillment of obligations by the employer, migration registration, obtaining a certificate of return to Kyrgyzstan and other issues at the center.
