Former adviser to Omurbek Tekebayev becomes head of Journalists Association

Chairman of Journalists Public Association was replaced. The organization reported.

Nurdin Duishenbekov was elected its head. Mars Tulegenov, who had held this position since 2018, resigned due to health reasons.

From 2005 to 2009, Nurdin Duishenbekov was a consultant at departments of committees of the Parliament. He was an adviser to the leader of Ata Meken parliamentary faction Omurbek Tekebayev.

Since 2019 — Press Secretary of the International Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He has the rank of the 3rd class civil service adviser.

Journalists Public Association was established in 1998 and is engaged in protection of the professional activities of journalists and upholding the principles of freedom of speech.
