At least 1.6 million people visited museums of Kyrgyzstan in 2021. The National Statistical Committee reported.
According to it, 68 museums worked in the republic last year. Visitors were offered about 330,000 exhibits. The museums in Bishkek (182,000), Issyk-Kul region (38,000) and Osh (33,000) have the largest number of exhibits.
At least 1.6 million people visited museums in 2021 that is 10 times more than in 2020. The museums of Talas region (48 percent), Osh (about 19 percent), Jalal-Abad region (16 percent) and Bishkek (10 percent) attracted the largest number of visitors.
Museum employees conducted about 8 million excursions last year and prepared about 650,000 lectures on the country’s historical and cultural heritage.
The International Museum Day is marked today around the world.
