Participants of CSTO peacekeeping mission in Kazakhstan to be awarded

Leaders of the CSTO member states signed a number of joint documents. The press service of the President reports.

It is specified that the following documents have been signed:

  • Statements of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC) in connection with the 30th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the CSTO;
  • Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on awarding CSTO awards to participants of the CSTO peacekeeping operation in the territory of Kazakhstan.

«The awards are given to a number of officers and servicemen of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces who were sent to Kazakhstan in January 2022 to stabilize and normalize the situation. The main tasks of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO were to protect important state and military facilities, assist the law enforcement forces of Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field,» the press service of the head of state noted.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry servicemen who participated in the CSTO peacekeeping mission complained to President Sadyr Japarov that they have not yet received compensation. Spokesman for the head of state Erbol Sultanbaev responded. He stated that the compensations would be paid in the nearest future.
