Akylbek Japarov opens marathon in Cholpon-Ata

Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of Run the Silk Road International Marathon. Participants of the marathon informed 24.kg news agency.

At the equestrian hippodrome in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Akylbek Japarov wished everyone good luck in the upcoming race and thanked for promoting a healthy lifestyle.

«Dear athletes and guests! I thank everyone on behalf of the President Sadyr Japarov! Issyk-Kul has always waited for world athletes. Today’s marathon is special, the winners will get accreditation for the Central Asian Games. As Alexander the Great said, life is a struggle, and sport is a great struggle. Good luck on your next run!» he said.

The head of the State Agency for Youth Policy, Culture and Sports Azamat Zhamankulov also took part in the opening ceremony.
