More than 1,000 police officers to ensure safety of tourists in Issyk-Kul region

At least 1,000 police officers will ensure safety of tourists in Issyk-Kul region during the summer season. Press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the region informed 24.kg news agency.

«Tourists will be provided with any assistance, from protecting life and health to getting around. Patrols of the tourist police on SUVs will be organized in the mountainous areas along specially designated routes. The main requirements for the tourist police officers will be to increase the level of tourists’ confidence in the police,» the department told.

The first foreign guests are already arriving in Issyk-Kul region these days. They are mainly interested in mountain tourism.

Run the Silk Road marathon will be held in Issyk-Kul region on May 14. More than 3,000 people from the SCO countries, the Kyrgyz athletics team and other runners are planning to take part in it.
