Sadyr Japarov met with the head of the Asian Football Confederation Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa. Press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The parties exchanged views on effective cooperation in order to develop football in Kyrgyzstan and further popularize this sport in the country.
President Sadyr Japarov expressed hope that the visit of the President of the AFC would bring good results and bring Kyrgyz football to a new level.
«The Asian Football Confederation is a force that unites the football federations of the Asian continent and serves as a bridge between them. Football plays an important role in society. The most important thing is that football is a sport that contributes to the preservation of people’s health and calls for unity and harmony,» Sadyr Japarov said.
He also told that construction of a multifunctional modern stadium that meets international standards would begin in the country in 2022.
AFC President Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa thanked the Kyrgyz side for support of football, expressing confidence in further deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
«Kyrgyz football has been developing well in recent years. The team of Kyrgyzstan has achieved good results,» the President of the AFC said.
Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa also expressed his gratitude to Sadyr Japarov for his personal support in the development of football in the country and holding of matches of the group round of qualifying tournament for the Asian Cup in Kyrgyzstan.
