Russia prepares document on recruitment of Kyrgyzstanis for work

Russia is preparing a document on organized recruitment of citizens of Kyrgyzstan for work in the Russian Federation. Article by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov «Russia — Central Asia: 30 years on the path of friendship and cooperation», published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, says.

According to him, the citizens of the Central Asian states show a high interest in the Russian labor market. This is due, among other things, to the visa-free regime with the vast majority of countries in the region and the absence of a «language barrier».

«Our countries are developing close cooperation in the field of migration regulation, improving the specialized legal framework. In 2017, an intergovernmental agreement was signed on the organized recruitment of citizens of Uzbekistan for work in Russia. A similar agreement, signed in 2019 with Tajikistan, came into force. The relevant intergovernmental document is being worked out with Kyrgyzstan,» the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

According to him, from 2010 to 2021, the volume of accumulated Russian investments amounted to about $30.5 billion. More than 10,000 Russian and joint ventures, creating 900,000 jobs, operate in the Central Asian countries.
