Ex-head of CEC Tuigunaaly Abdraimov arrested and placed in remand prison

The former head of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) Tuigunaaly Abdraimov was arrested and placed in the remand prison of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) for the duration of the investigation. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek made the decision.

It is known that an investigator filed a petition with the court for the arrest of the former official. The court granted the request. Tuigunaaly Abdraimov will be kept in custody for the period of the investigation — until June 30.

Earlier it was reported that the security services revealed the fact of abuse of office by the ex-plenipotentiary representative of the government in Chui region Tuigunaaly Abdraimov. When he was the chairman of the CEC, he, using his official position, forced the officials of Zheek rural administration of Issyk-Ata district to allocate a landfill area of ​​11.2 hectares for Kainar CJSC free of charge.

Tuigunaaly Abdraimov is suspected of abuse of office when he was the head of the CEC.
