Mandatory PCR testing for people entering Kyrgyzstan canceled from May 1

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov held a regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for combatting the spread of coronavirus infection and elimination of its consequences in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Reports were heard on the epidemiological situation connected with coronavirus infection in the republic and on the progress of vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection.

The Ministry of Health, together with interested state bodies, was instructed to cancel the mandatory requirement for a negative PCR test result or a certificate of vaccination against coronavirus infection for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreigners crossing the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic through checkpoints and by all kinds of transport from May 1.

The Presidential Envoys to the regions were instructed, together with the Ministry of Health, to continue the campaign on vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection, expanding coverage and increasing the rate of vaccination, as well as focusing on vulnerable groups.

In addition, at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a draft decision will be submitted, providing for the recognition of the government decree dated March 22, 2020 No. 93-r (on the introduction of a state of emergency) as invalid.
