Seven cases of COVID-19 were detected among exchange students from the American University of Central Asia with advanced study of the Russian language (U.S. citizens). The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance informed 24.kg news agency.
According to its data, the students arrived in Kyrgyzstan in February 2022.
«Due to the appearance of symptoms, they took a rapid test for coronavirus, positive results were obtained. They self-isolated at a hotel and took a PCR test at a private laboratory, which was also positive. They were vaccinated against coronavirus infection. At present, the condition of the students is stable, they have a mild form of the disease,» the department said.
According to daily monitoring, stabilization of the epidemiological situation in terms of COVID-19 is observed in the country. All registered single cases are a mild and asymptomatic form.
«The effective reproduction number for the last week is 0.4, Kyrgyzstan and the rest of the regions are in the green zone,» the department said.
