Issyk-Kul Industrial and Pedagogical College will launch its own training and production complex to train students in hospitality and tourism after its full reconstruction. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reports.
According to its data, the training and production complex consists of six modern and equipped hotel rooms: four twins (with two separate beds in one room) and two doubles (with one double bed in a room). This will allow students to learn on the job.
The ministry noted that the restoration of training and production activities within training of college students would increase their competitiveness in the labor market, as well as allow them to consolidate their knowledge in practice.
Reconstruction of the college became possible under the project Sector Development Program: Skills for Inclusive Growth, which is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Asian Development Bank.
«In total, we are reconstructing and equipping with modern equipment eight colleges across Kyrgyzstan, which have already become centers of excellence. Each of them will have its own training and production complex. For example, in Balykchy, the complex was created for Organization and Maintenance of Tourist Complexes program. Besides reconstruction, we pay much attention to introduction of per capita financing system, training of students in entrepreneurship and capacity building of teaching staff,» the project manager Nurlan Atakanov said.
The project aims to increase the efficiency of vocational technical education and training. The program includes components on strengthening management and financing vocational training and education, improving the quality of teaching and learning environment, and introducing competency-based training with special emphasis on cooperation with industry and development of entrepreneurial skills.
The Issyk-Kul Industrial and Pedagogical College also received new teaching and office equipment. The student canteen was equipped with kitchen equipment, and the college’s conference room was equipped with an interactive panel and conference communication system.
