Suspect in kidnapping of businessman detained

Officers of the 3^rd Department of the Main Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a man suspected of kidnapping of a businessman. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

«A 37-year-old native of Jalal-Abad region, who had previously been convicted several times, was detained. According to operational data, the detainee is registered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a member of an organized criminal group. The search for the suspect’s accomplices continues. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of kidnapping,» the statement says.

A video of an attack on a private entrepreneur that occurred in February in one of the markets of Bishkek appeared on social media. Three unidentified people beat the man and forced him into the car. It was reported that the kidnappers took a large sum of money from him.
