President of Azerbaijan to pay official visit to Kyrgyzstan

Sadyr Japarov invited Ilham Aliyev to visit Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him. The President of Azerbaijan accepted the invitation. The press service of the head of state reports.

The Presidents met in an expanded format. They discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including interaction in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and investment fields.

Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the parties would be able to achieve maximum results following the talks. He noted that signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership is a significant event, since there were no relations of such a high level over the years of bilateral cooperation between the countries.

«Strategic partnership means great advantages and great responsibility. I am sure that in the future we will always support each other in international structures and actively work bilaterally,» the leader of Azerbaijan said.

He added that a wide range of issues was discussed during the tête-à-tête meeting: cooperation on investment projects, cooperation in agriculture and development of transport infrastructure.

In turn, Sadyr Japarov stressed symbolism of the meeting, which is taking place on the eve of the 25^th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and on the eve of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states.

«Therefore, we have to take advantage of these favorable conditions and, by combining creative efforts, increase the volume of our partnership for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two countries,» the President of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

As Sadyr Japarov emphasized, today’s transformations in the world give the parties a historical chance to build relations of a new type and there are ample opportunities for practical cooperation, especially in the trade and economic sphere. He noted the steps being taken to liberalize the economy, improve investment legislation thanks to which the investment partnership of Kyrgyzstan with other countries is activated.

The head of state invited the business circles of Azerbaijan to actively study the investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic, focusing on free economic zones, preferential tax and customs regimes, which will contribute to the intensification of business cooperation. «There are all conditions for bringing our relations to a qualitatively new level. I sincerely thank you for supporting Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to establish strategic partnership relations between the two states,» he said.

Sadyr Japarov stressed his readiness for fruitful work with the Azerbaijani brothers and expressed hope that the two peoples would contribute to building a better world together.
