At least 56.2 percent of residents of Kyrgyzstan are overweight. The press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reports, citing analysts of the World Health Organization.

At the same time, 23.1 percent of the country’s citizens are obese. It is noted that this indicator in the republic is higher for women than for men.

Some 43 percent of the adult population of the Kyrgyz Republic (from 25 to 64 years old) suffer from arterial hypertension — high blood pressure. This, in turn, significantly increases the risk of development of the diseases of cardiovascular system, brain and kidneys, as well as other diseases.
