Almaz Isanov, head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, met with deputies of the Parliament (Riksdag) of Sweden. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The parties discussed the socio-economic situation in the country, strategic development issues and key national priorities, including accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
«The President of Kyrgyzstan declared this year the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience. This topic is the best fit as a priority for bilateral cooperation between our two countries. I would like to note that we put forward the development of a green, digital and creative economy as national priorities,» Almaz Isanov said.
The delegation of Swedish MPs noted that their country supports initiatives leading to an improvement in the quality of life of ordinary people.
«I am pleased to hear that the leaders of the country are making weighted decisions based on the evidence obtained by sectoral science,» Janine Alm Ericson said.
The delegation of Swedish members of Parliament is in Kyrgyzstan from April 10 to April 15, 2022. They study the development priorities of the countries of Central Asia on the example of the Kyrgyz Republic and identification of priorities for supporting UNDP projects in the region. As part of the visit, Swedish deputies plan to visit regions of the country.
