Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov, as part of his working trip to Geneva (Swiss Confederation), met with the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Antonio Vitorino.
The parties discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and IOM, including those related to the sphere of international migration policy, labor migration and the fight against human trafficking.
The Deputy Prime Minister focused on the issue of expanding the geography of labor migration of Kyrgyzstanis. In particular, they discussed promotion of new areas of labor migration to the countries of Europe and the Middle East.
Antonio Vitorino positively assessed the level of bilateral cooperation between the parties and noted the readiness to support initiatives that develop migration policy.
