Bishkek hosted a regional meeting of the heads of CIS border agencies. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to it, delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the coordinating service of the Council of Commanders of the Commonwealth Border Troops gathered for the sixth time.
Kamchybek Tashiev, chairman of the SCNS, addressed participants of the meeting.
«The main issues and threats to border security on the external borders of the CIS member states of the Central Asian region, trends of development of the situation in the Afghan direction were considered, and measures for further joint strengthening of the border security system were discussed. As a result of the meeting, a protocol was signed, the recommendations of which will be discussed at May 18 meeting of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops in Turkestan,» the Border Service informed.
