The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also told about the work carried out by Kyrgyzstan to implement the directions of sustainable development.

"Given that more than half of our 6.5 million population is under 25 years old, President Sadyr Japarov has proclaimed a nationwide goal to improve the level of education and health care for children and youth. Implementation of this goal has started with an increase in the salaries of school teachers by at least 80 percent. We are starting an active campaign to recruit and train a new generation of highly qualified teachers of the exact sciences, mathematics, information technology and foreign languages. For the third day in a row, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. We have conducted a successful vaccination campaign, and as a young developing country, we are striving to start recovering from the devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Edil Baisalov said and noted that the Cabinet of Ministers is taking the necessary measures to mitigate external shocks for vulnerable segments of the population.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) was established on March 28, 1947 to develop economic activity and strengthen economic ties within the region. It is one of the five regional economic commissions of the United Nations and is headquartered in Geneva.
