53-year-old T.B. was detained for distributing extremist materials in Osh city. Press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The man disseminated the ideology of Hizb ut-Tahrir extremist organization, banned in Kyrgyzstan, on social media.
«The suspect is one of the leaders of the extremist organization. During the search, prohibited materials, stored on an electronic data storage device, were found in his possession. The detainee was placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is ongoing,» the department reported.
