Akylbek Japarov and khokims of Uzbek regions reach number of agreements

A protocol was signed following the results of the 4th meeting of the Council of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Government of Kyrgyzstan and khokims of the border regions of Uzbekistan. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The parties agreed to continue work on increasing the volume of trade between the two countries to $2 billion.

The Kyrgyz side proposed to increase the volume of supplies of cement, coal, quartz sand, potatoes, milk and dairy products from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

«In order to advance the previously reached agreements, it was proposed to start the practical implementation of a project on creation of a complex of cotton-textile cluster, which includes a cotton gin plant, a yarn factory, a textile factory and machine and tractor park, as well as a plant for the production of vegetable oil in Nooken district of Jalal- Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic with consideration of possible financing of the project by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund,» the statement says.

The issue of development of the machine-building industry and implementation of projects on creation of a plant for assembly of cars, agricultural and attached equipment in Kyrgyzstan will be considered.

The Council instructed the administrations of the Jalal-Abad and Namangan regions to expedite the implementation of the issue on creation of joint farms for breeding cattle and small cattle, including using cluster mechanisms.
