Leader of Yakyn Inkar religious extremist movement was detained in Aravan district of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Internal Affairs Department of Osh region reported.
A criminal case was initiated earlier under the Article «Creation and financing of an extremist organization» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«The detainee gathered members of Yakyn Inkar religious extremist movement from other regions of the country and carried out propaganda work among them. Religious extremist materials were confiscated from 53-year-old T.M. The detainee was placed in a temporary detention center,» the department reported.
