MP Zhenishbek Toktorbaev proposes to revise licenses of gold mining companies. He said it at a session of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the state should have a share in the development of all deposits.
«Jerooy deposit was given as a gift. As you know, it was sold for $100 million, and the gold reserve there is 105 tons. One ounce of gold on the London Stock Exchange costs $2,000. This deposit is valued at no less than $6.5 billion. Future generations won’t forgive us for this,» Toktorbaev said.
He also mentioned other gold mines doing dubious work and underpaying taxes as example.
«There should be a state share in all gold deposits, such as Bozumchak, Ishtamberdi, Tereksai, Ekibakyr and others. Then the inflow into the state budget will increase. It is necessary to review the licenses of companies without state share. Let’s give a month to the Cabinet of Ministers, if they can not, then we will create a parliamentary commission and we will start work,» the deputy added.
