Rights of migrants from Kyrgyzstan discussed in Russia

Almaz Bukalayev, Consul of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia, met with senior officials of the Russian Federal Service for Labour and Employment (Rostrud). The diplomatic mission reported.

According to the diplomatic mission, they discussed protection of the rights of migrant workers, as well as measures to eliminate detected violations.

The Consul drew the participants’ attention to the illegal activities of unscrupulous employers who violate the labor rights of Kyrgyzstanis in Russia in terms of non-payment of wages, and also asked for thorough oversight and control measures on all incoming complains about violations of labor rights.

The leadership of Rostrud assured that they, based on all applications received, would carry out a full and comprehensive check for compliance with labour legislation.

The parties also discussed the possibility of using the state information system «Work in Russia» for job search by citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

As a result of the meeting, a procedure for interaction between the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission and Rostrud was agreed, and an agreement was reached on conducting joint explanatory work with Kyrgyzstanis.
