Kyrgyzstan has received 200 refrigerating units for storage of vaccines. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.
The country received 150 freezers and 50 combined refrigerators from UNICEF as part of the Humanitarian Action for Children programme. The new equipment will be installed in healthcare institutions across the country to ensure safe storage of vaccines.
Tomoya Sonoda, Education and Healthcare Manager at UNICEF, said that the new equipment will increase the Ministry of Health’s capacity to ensure proper vaccine management and quality immunization services for the population of Kyrgyzstan.
The Ministry of Health recalled that the country received 46 freezers and 35 combined refrigerators earlier this year as part of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform project.
