«It is gratifying that Russia and Kyrgyzstan show solidarity in many foreign policy issues, which allows to more actively contribute to asserting the rights and protecting the interests of citizens of sovereign states, restoring historical truth,» Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, said at a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Gulnara-Klara Samat.
The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council noted that the high level of bilateral relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan is emphasized by active contacts between the leaders of the two countries, governments and Parliaments. He also said that the Russian parliament members have been interested in the development of relations between the states in all directions. The need to step up the work of the inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan was noted.
Konstantin Kosachev and Gulnara-Klara Samat also touched upon issues of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic in various fields, including interaction on the platforms of the EAEU, CSTO, SCO, as well as the prospects for organizing and implementation of joint cultural and humanitarian projects with the participation of parliamentarians of the two countries.
