Regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was held in Moscow in person under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

At least 30 questions were considered at the meeting. The EEC Council approved the composition of the high-level working group to create conditions for increasing the internal stability of the economy of the EAEU member states, including ensuring macroeconomic stability, as well as resilience to external challenges. At the same time, a list of measures to improve the stability of the economies was agreed upon, which is grouped into four areas.

Following the meeting of the EEC Council, decisions were also made to increase the limit of duty-free import for individuals to 1,000 euros for goods transported by a carrier or by post.

The limit has been temporarily increased until October 1.

In addition, the procedure for documentary confirmation of the origin of goods imported into the customs territory of the EAEU has been simplified. Decisions were made to develop a draft interstate program «Eurasian Information and Computing Infrastructure» and to include 52 more items in the list of goods for public procurement. This measure will give access to suppliers of these goods for participation in public procurement and will remove significant administrative barriers.

«In addition, the members of the EEC Council decided to expand the possibilities for simplified and accelerated registration of medicines. The main innovations relate to electronic document management and remote procedures for assessing the quality of medicines. Three types of procedures for simplified and accelerated access of drugs to the market of the Union have been introduced. This will allow pharmaceutical companies to minimize losses associated with the disruption of supply chains, redistribute costs for the post-registration stage,» the Cabinet stressed.

The next meeting of the EEC Council will be held on April 15 in Moscow.
