Keneshbai Tailakov, Chairman of the Service for Antimonopoly Regulation, visited some flour mills to study the situation on the flour market of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the agency reports.
Earlier, the flour mills, the Ministry of Economy, the Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Agriculture signed a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, the flour mills received tax benefits, but in return they pledged to provide the market with flour. However, monitoring of prices for socially important goods in retail chains and food markets revealed limited quantities of wheat flour in paper bags.
«During the visit to Bishkek Flour Mill OJSC (Akun) and RoLA LLC it was found out that the flour mills have been functioning uninterruptedly. There are stocks of flour and pasta products. Bishkek Flour Mill OJSC had interruptions in supply of flour in paper bags. The reason was the breakdown of the packaging line. As of today, the problem has been eliminated and production has been resumed. Flour mills are keeping wholesale prices of up to 33 soms per kilogram of first-grade flour. The mills have been warned of the need to strictly comply with their obligations and not to allow unreasonable increases in wholesale selling prices,» the statement says.
