Amendments to the law on pastures are a threat to the independence and national interests of the country. Deputy Sultanbai Aizhigitov said at a session of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that the Constitution prohibits privatization of pastures and forests.
«It is proposed to give such land as unproductive pastures for development on the basis of decree No. 306, then it opens the way for their privatization. This bill is a threat to the sovereignty, national and economic interests of the country,» Sultanbai Aizhigitov said.
The lawmaker told that letters signed by 10,000 people opposing the bill have been received.
The bill is being considered in the second reading. It is proposed to provide the low-productive pastures for lease.
