Kairat Satybaldyuly, the nephew of the former president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, has been taken into custody for two months. Website of the specialized Inter-District Investigative Court of the city of Nur-Sultan says.
It is specified that the court has authorized a measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of two months.
Information about the detention of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s nephew first appeared in January, but was later refuted.
Detention of Kairat Satybaldyuly was confirmed only in March. The anti-corruption agency said it is investigating abuse of office and embezzlement of funds from Kazakhtelecom on a large scale.
