The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev. Josep Borrell announced it on his Twitter.
Josep Borrell expressed the EU’s serious concern about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
«We agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire and establishment of humanitarian corridors. Reiterated EU’s strong commitment to develop relations with Kyrgyzstan and the whole Central Asian region,» he wrote.
Situation in Ukraine remains complicated. Fighting continues. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions on Russia.
