Exchange rate of the U.S. dollar grew by 3.5 soms in half an hour in Kyrgyzstan.
Exchange offices of the capital and commercial banks buy the currency for 98.5-100 soms, and sell it for 103-103.5 soms. The official rate was set by the National Bank at 97.6945 soms for March 10.
The exchange rate of the Russian ruble, on the contrary, slightly dropped. It is bought for 0.7-0.8 soms, and sold for 1.05-1.07 soms. Its nominal exchange rate for March 10 is 0.8416 soms (8.85 percent drop).
Appreciation of the U.S. dollar in Kyrgyzstan occurred against the backdrop of similar events in Russia. The dollar and euro rates have updated their historical highs there. The dollar hit the new upper limit set by the currency exchange — 120.83 rubles, the euro exchange rate reached 131 rubles.
