First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev held online talks with the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China Liu Sushen.
According to the press service of the government, the parties discussed issues of interaction between the countries within the framework of the current sanitary and epidemiological measures, as well as issues of the observed epidemiological situation in the countries and border regions of the parties, the measures taken to prevent the cross-border movement of infection and the possibility of optimizing control to simplify it.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing the flow of goods between countries through the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border and the possibility of using various methods of moving goods through the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints.
Arzybek Kozhoshev noted that further efforts should be made to increase the volume of goods transported across the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, taking into account the epidemiological situation in both countries.
Liu Sushen emphasized that at present, the number of goods transported through the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints has reached the pre-pandemic level, at the same time the Chinese side expressed their readiness for consensus and further work in all areas of mutual interest.
At the suggestion of the Kyrgyz side, the Chinese side noted the possibility of detailed consideration of the issue of increasing the working hours of the adjacent checkpoints.
