More than 1.2 million refugees have already left Ukraine since the beginning of the military operation, Kommersant reports, citing AFP.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees noted that about half of those left are children. The main flow of refugees goes to Poland, Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia, Romania and Russia. Refugees also began to go to other European countries.

«We know that the number of refugees will increase. There is a possibility that approximately the same number of people will be forced to temporarily move within the country,» the UNHCR said.

Since the start of the military operation, 649,903 people have entered Poland, 144,738 people — Hungary, 103,254 people — Moldova, 90,329 people — Slovakia, 57,192 people — Romania, and 53,300 people — Russia. About 384 people have entered Belarus. At least 110,876 Ukrainian refugees have already gone to other European countries.

Today is the 10th day of fighting in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced start of a special military operation. It was regarded in Ukraine and in the West as a full-scale invasion.

Second round of Russian-Ukrainian talks took place on March 3, 2022. The parties agreed on providing humanitarian aid to the population.
