The Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres congratulated the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and the people of the country on the 30th anniversary of membership in the UN. Press service of the head of state reported.
«The date of March 2, 1992 is a special occasion for our organization. About 5 percent of all members of today’s UN joined it on that single day. Over the past three decades, we have forged an increasingly close partnership in the pursuit of peace, stability and social progress in the region and around the world. Kyrgyzstan is an important supporter of the multilateral system, advancing towards the Sustainable Development Goals and tackling global challenges,» the congratulatory message reads.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres thanked Kyrgyzstan for its support to the UN over three decades and expressed hope for continued strengthening of ties over the next years.
«As we hope to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe that together we can move towards more sustainable, resilient and just societies. Through solidarity, unity of purpose and spirit of dialogue, compromise and reconciliation, we can confront the challenges we face and realize our, United Nations’ essential aspiration for peace, prosperity and human rights for all,» the message says.
