WHO has postponed the inspection of production of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Russia. Lenta.ru reported with reference to the statement of the organization.
The reason is the cancellation of all flights between Europe and Russia. The visit of the inspectors was expected to take place in March 2022. A WHO representative told the news agency that the process for recognizing vaccines is the same for all drugs, and the timing depends on many factors. The manufacturers of Sputnik V have not yet commented on suspension of the inspection.
Today is the eighth day of fighting in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced start of a special military operation. It was regarded in Ukraine and in the West as a full-scale invasion. Severe economic sanctions began to be imposed on Russia on February 25.
