Russia ordered by FIFA to play in neutral countries without flag or anthem

FIFA has banned the use of the Russian flag and anthem at international matches involving teams of the Russian Football Union. RIA Novosti reports citing the organization.

It said FIFA had also banned national team football matches in Russia, with the Russian national team set to play home matches on a neutral field and without fans.

«FIFA will continue dialogue with the IOC and UEFA to determine additional sanctions, including the possible suspension of the Russian national team from the competition,» it said.

Today is the fifth day of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. It started on February 24, 2022. On February 25, fighting took place in the north, south and east of the country. Some cities are either blocked or captured. The number of casualties among the military and civilians continues to grow. Western states impose tough sanctions against the Russian Federation, but they refused to fight in Ukraine.

On February 26, the Spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the military operation would continue after Ukraine refused to negotiate.
