In accordance with previously reached agreement, another meeting of topographic working groups of government delegations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border was held on February 10-15 in Batken. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to the press service, the sides exchanged opinions on passage of the line of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the remaining sections and agreed to continue the discussion at the next meeting, which will be held on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was held in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
It was reported earlier that the commission would begin work to discuss Maity section in Leilek district.
Resumption of the work of the intergovernmental commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the border was announced after negotiations of the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev and the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saymumin Yatimov.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said on Tuesday that the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan agreed to resolve the border issue without a third party.
