A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, 56, was killed in an explosion in a medical institution in Uzbekistan. Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
The explosion of gas-air mixture occurred on February 11 in a private medical diagnostic center Ziteriya in Shakhrikhan district of Andijan region. The body of the deceased was transported to Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a criminal case was opened on the explosion under Article 257 (violation of workplace safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and an investigation is underway.
Earlier, Radio Ozodlik reported that the explosion occurred in a private clinic, killing at least one person — a 56-year-old patient. Citizenship of the deceased was not specified. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan, the number of victims of the explosion reached 11 people.
