Criminal case against MP Akbokon Tashtanbekov was dismissed. The Bishkek City Court informed 24.kg news agency.
The Sverdlovsky District Court of the capital made the ruling today.
The proceedings were terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution.
Criminal case has been initiated against the deputy. A video was posted on social media where he threatens a man of another nationality. Facebook users demanded to punish the candidate for the mandate for inciting ethnic hatred. The Central Election Commission agreed to prosecute him. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security.
It is worth noting that the video was filmed several years ago. Supporters of Akbokon Tashtanbekov say that it was posted on social media now in order to provoke a campaign against the winner of the elections in the single-mandate constituency.
