Details of the negotiations between the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping have been published on the website of the Chinese government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC.
The press service of the Presidential Executive Office of Kyrgyzstan gave only brief comments on the results of the talks and a small list of signed documents.
It became known that the Kyrgyz side proposed to study the issue of export of electricity from the Kyrgyz Republic to China.
It was noted that China welcomes the creation of a good and safe business environment in Kyrgyzstan to protect the interests of foreign investors and increase investors’ confidence.
Kyrgyzstan invites Chinese enterprises to implement cooperation projects in the country.
It is reported that the PRC supports the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. In addition, China is ready to expand cooperation in healthcare, fight against poverty, education, and protection of maternity and childhood.
China plans to build a higher education institution in Kyrgyzstan as soon as possible to help train more professional and qualified personnel. However, there are no details of the project in official Beijing’s reports.
The press release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of China also says that Kyrgyzstan will continue to support China in protecting its core interests.
It includes the protection of sovereignty and security in issues related to Xinjiang, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan told 24.kg news agency that they did not know anything about the possible sale of electricity to China. The Presidential Executive Office promised to comment later on the discrepancies in these press releases.
