Former deputy prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Duishenbek Zilaliev was released from custody. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.

Such a decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.

«The former official was released from custody in connection with the new criminal legislation that came into force. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, the accused cannot be in custody without a verdict that has entered into force for more than a year,» the sources said.

In December 2018, the State Committee for National Security discovered undeclared houses, apartments and millions on a bank account of the former Deputy Prime Minister. He calls his case a political show and does not admit his guilt.

Duishenbek Zilaliev was sentenced to nine years in prison.

In June, the Supreme Court overturned decisions of previous instances and returned the case for a new trial.
