Deputy from the single-mandate constituency Akbokon Tashtanbekov took the oath at a meeting of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
A criminal case has been initiated against the deputy. A video was posted on social media where he threatens a man of another nationality. Facebook users demanded to punish the candidate for the mandate for inciting ethnic hatred. The Central Election Commission agreed to prosecute him. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security.
It is worth noting that the video was filmed several years ago. Supporters of Akbokon Tashtanbekov say that it was posted on social media now in order to provoke a campaign against the winner of the elections in the district.
The criminal case against the parliamentary deputy was brought to court. He was placed under house arrest the day before.
