Situation in Kazakhstan: 20 Kyrgyzstanis evacuated from country

As part of the provision of consular and legal assistance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs evacuated citizens of Kyrgyzstan and other countries from Kazakhstan.

It is specified that 20 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic arrived by specially organized transport, including children, women, 20 citizens of Russia, as well as a citizen of Tajikistan and a citizen of Uzbekistan.

In connection with the latest events in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Nur-Sultan and the Consulate General in Almaty, are constantly monitoring the situation and are in contact with diaspora organizations; work will also continue on evacuation of citizens of Kyrgyzstan through border checkpoints.

According to preliminary information of the diplomatic mission and consular office of the Kyrgyz Republic in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty, Kyrgyzstanis have not been seen in riots, conflict situations, and there are no Kyrgyzstanis among the victims of the riots.

According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty International Airport suspends its work until January 19.

The ministry earnestly asks compatriots staying in the territory of Kazakhstan to comply with the laws and rules of stay of the country of residence, not to succumb to provocations, not to take part in conflict situations, to avoid crowded places and stay in their places of residence.
