An underground waste storage project in Bishkek will be implemented by a Ukrainian company. Press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported.
The Ukrainian Diason LLC won the competition for the pilot project on underground storage and collection of waste.
«The winning company will install three underground waste storage and collection systems. Each system will be equipped with four waste bins. Introduction of modern technologies will allow to create a new waste collection and storage system. Thanks to this approach, the aesthetics of city streets will improve,» the press service noted.
The City Hall added that a special signaling system will allow to remove the waste on time, which will contribute to cleanliness and order near the garbage containers and sites, there will be no smell from the decomposition of food waste. «Most importantly, the collection points will no longer be a place of accumulation of stray animals,» the City Hall said.
Earlier, the Vice Mayor of the capital Maksatbek Sazykulov told that the City Hall was introducing a pilot project on underground storage and collection of garbage in a test mode. The funds were allocated from the republican budget. «We plan to use this money to build three or four sites, and then cover the entire city,» he stressed.
